The classically minded among us may have noted a new TV ad for
Microsoft's Internet Explorer e-mail program which uses the
musical theme of the "Confutatis Maledictis" from Mozart's Requiem.
"Where do you want to go today?" is the cheery line on the screen, while
the chorus sings "Confutatis maledictis, flammis acribus addictis." For
those of you who have not studied Latin, this translates to "The damned
and accursed are consigned to the flames of hell."
Good to know that Microsoft has done its research!
I work for an internet provider, as tech support.
So I get all the goofy calls... One day, an older
lady called the service obviously knowing nothing
She said that we (the Internet company) had given
her a virus. I asked her how that was possible.
She told me that her computer wouldn't go on. I
asked her if she had pushed the power button....
She said yes that she had pushed the button twice
and it still didn't go on.
(I had to call everyone and tell them)
Something only recently discovered:
Due to an anticipated voter turnout much larger than
originally expected, the polling facilities may not
be able to handle the load all at once.
Therefore, Republicans are requested to vote on
Wednesday, November 8, and Democrats and Independents
on Tuesday, November 7. Please pass this message
along and help us to make sure that nobody gets left out.
